"Holiday Swazi Style"

A Fairytale Kingdom: Swaziland has a wonderful climate, beautiful landscape and glorious wildlife. Soaring mountains, verdant hills, delightful valleys, bubbling streams and powerful rivers provide a superb background.

For hundreds of years Swazi culture has been a supremely important factor in the country. The people respect the land, their ancestors, their families, their King known as the Lion (Ingwenyama), and their Queen Mother known as the Elephant (Indlovukazi) and lovingly honour each in their festivals. The Swazis are enoumously friendly and cultured.

Swazi culture is a tremendously powerful cohesive force and the Swazis produce superb crafts - including glassware, exquisite candles, and luxurious hand woven items. Hospitality is held in primary esteem and consequently Swaziland had developed as a relaxed tourism destination for South Africans wishing to "Chill Out" in a less authoritarian regime.

Swaziland had developed as a low cost mass tourism local destination and needed to develop an image to upgrade its sustainable tourism offer.

  • Created the Swazi Style image highlighting the
unique facets of Swazi culture and hospitality.

  • Assisted in the promotion of the newly created
    Swaziland Tourism Authority.

  • Created a beautiful 16 page full colour brochure
highlighting sustainable tourism offers such as:

- Horse Riding, cycling and walking trails

- Small conferences and incentives

- Adventure holidays

- Specialist Holidays

- Craft-related breaks

  • Created a marketing plan to market the trails to a new marketplace.

  • Marketing the trails through travel trade and consumer shows including assistance at the:

-  World Travel Market - London

- ITB Berlin

- Vakantie Netherlands

- BIT Milan

  • Marketing the trails via press releases to selected well-briefed journalists.

  • Featured sustainable tourism in practice in every promotion.

And who benefits?

  • Local communities benefit by creating revenue for much needed local projects.

  • Local entrepreneurs and investors benefit by the creation of a sustainable flow of high-margin tourists.
