Day flight from Zanzibar via Nairobi to Entebbe arriving Thursday afternoon. Short drive to our hotel. Overnight accommodation.

Friday

Early morning departure for Murchison Falls National Park to arrive at the park around lunchtime. Inside the park, we値l drive towards the Nile and Murchison Falls, where we値l see the amazing view from the top of the falls. Dinner and overnight at the Nile Safari Camp.

Saturday

Early rise for a dawn game drive on the North bank of the Nile to see the extraordinary variety of  wildlife living here, including Uganda Kob, elephant, lion, giraffe, antelope, a vast variety of  eagles and much more.

In the afternoon, we値l make the amazing launch trip to the Murchison Falls , we値l pass pods of hippo, crocs, vast numbers of exotic birds and butterflies (in Murchison, there are over 300 varieties) and myriad wildlife coming to the water to drink (often including herds of elephants).

 The fall is one of Africa痴 wonders - the whole of the Victoria Nile bursting majestically through a six metre gap to an awesome forty metre drop.

 

Sunday

After breakfast we値l take an uniquely Ugandan experience - primate tracking in a tropical forest. The Budongo Forest  (Uganda痴 largest tropical hardwood forest) is home to a vast abundance of wildlife. 350 species of birds, over 250 species of butterfly, and the forest is almost alive with primates - Colobus and Red-Tailed monkey are easily seen and we値l hope to meet one of the forest痴 groups of habituated chimpanzee.Return via Kampala (time for excursion to Kalangala candle-lit market and dinner) and the short journey to Entebbe for our return flight to UK or overnight at Entebbe prior to our flight via Nairobi to Zanzibar .

 

The Nile Safari Camp

The riverside Nile Safari Camp must be one of the most  romantic lodges in the world. Accommodation is in beautifully designed waterside log cabins each with its own internal tent, terrace, bathroom and outside shower (complete with pebbles!).

 

There is an alfresco restaurant and small gift shop, a small swimming pool, and an observation platform where you may enjoy a drink whilst watching the Nile wildlife.

Totally in keeping with its surroundings, the Nile Safari Camp offers a quality of service, attention and friendliness that will make your stay on the Nile a really memorable experience - not least the memory of falling asleep to the lullaby of the prolific waterlife beneath your cabin.
